I have suspect glaucoma due to my father's history of glaucoma. My last annual appointment was December 2015 when my doctor decided my pressures were high and I should come back in 6 months. This appointment was early June.
I had a field test but due to an "administrative error" no appointment with the doctor straight after. The nurse who administered the field eye test wrote on my notes I should have another appointment within 1-4 weeks. I have now received an appointment in 7 weeks time. It would appear after waiting 21 mins for the appointment line to pick up my call that there is nothing to be done.
The professionals looking after my eye care at both Dorking and Crawley have been excellent and I have no problem with them at all - couldn't ask for better treatment BUT why should I have to wait 7 weeks when someone has made an administrative error?
I have been very worried over the last 6 months and should have had an informed diagnosis on the 9th, now I am expected to wait almost another 2 months to find out whether I have glaucoma. I hardly think this comes within the bounds of "Your care matters"!
