My sister was admitted to Solihull hospital on numerous occasions with cushions disease, diabetes, and also cancer. the care from MAU ward AMUSS was fantastic they listened to her needs and did there upmost to help her cope and be comfortable.
My sister was only 49 years old and all staff took to her as not a lot of people had heard of cushions disease and were shocked when they realised what she was dealing with and coping and how they could try and treat her we are so thankful to them all.
A was transferred to flexi ward / 20b they were unbelievable, they couldn't do enough for her, sadly the doctors told A and us there was little time left for her, well the whole team went into overdrive for A and her children to support them to hug them even to hug A she had the opportunity to go home but felt so comfortable and safe she decided to stay.
A passed away so peacefully and comfortable they let the children and family stay I don't know how they coped with us all they were great the palliative care nurses Jan and sue talked so much to the children it made them feel at ease and helped accept what was going to happen.
We cannot thank the ward enough well done to you all and thank you for all you done for A and for us.
