After using the 111 service and my 3yr old son having a convulsion due to temp or 40.4 while on the phone they dispatched an ambulance.
We arrived at the hospital at 8.30pm and didn't see a doctor till 1am. This wasn't a Friday night - it was Tuesday!
When we were put into the a&e bay there was no bed and as the porter came in with one I noticed a needle on the floor behind them. Thankfully warned them before stood on it! But my normally inquisitive son could have easily got his hands on it!
About a year ago I was on A&E with heart complications and the bay I was taken into had equipment in that contained someone else's waste blood discharge/mucus.
The staff were lovely and very accommodating of an over tired 3yr old but I feel that fewer staff doing more jobs means things slip!
