"Anyklosing spondylitis- 2 week course 8th -..."

About: Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases NHS Foundation Trust

One month prior to attending I started a weight loss regime at my local Gym, to improve

on the specialist stretching and manipulation i would receive on the course.

Due to a general increase

In my daily Pain levels in my Neck and lower Back, I thought I may benefit from the two week Pain management course run at the RNHRD in Bath.

I had a one week course back in 2012 which was helpful as far as exercises were concerned, but working flat out whilst attending left street levels very high.

This two week attendance with me now semi retired I felt would be of benefit.

Following registration on the first day and a consultation with the Doctor I was presented with a two week time table detailing a mix of Exercise and educational talks based on the known A S sufferers effects. The programme proved to be extremely effective at the end of the course my BASMI results had improved by 50%.

Also my neck pain now greatly reduced to the degree I had not taken addition pain killer tablets from the start of the second week, relying only on my Anti TNF injections.

For me the Hydro exercise seemed to help me the most with a noticeable improvement in my Balance. The entire A S team were dedicated, under standing and were always interested to hear from all in our group of ( four A S sufferers) on how we felt with and managed of varied symptoms. Adding to the methods used now and in the future on this Valued course.

I want to take this opportunity in thanking the doctor and Team for the dedication and care I received during this course and over the many years I have attended Bath to monitor and ease my condition.

Thank you all so much, you are all very important to us A S patients.

Alan Stevens

PS excuse any unusual words this laptop keeps changing what i intend to write.

We thank you for your comments about your recent care at the RUH and will forward these on to the team at the RNHRD who, we are sure, will be very grateful for your kind words.
