What I liked
When I was referred to the Physio department the staff were extremely good and worked exceptionally hard to make me better. They were friendly and professional at all times.
What could be improved
The orthopaedics department was a nightmare. Whenever I went there I would have to wait between 3 and 5 hours after my allocated appointment time in a crowded area extremely uncomfortable for someone who could not bend their leg with people clambering over me. Many of the HCA's seemed to be temps from Haywards Heath and although friendly didn't seem to know how long waiting times were or what was happening. I was discharged whilst still in a lot of pain and had to demand to be referred to physio which I went to for 6 months but the swelling in my knee was not going down so I have since been referred to Eastbourne where it was discovered I had a meniscus tear that was not picked up because the registrar at Brighton did not investigate. A year later it is being operated on. I felt like the consultants at Brighton didn't have enough time to investigate my injury properly and that staffing issues meant that there was no continuity of care.
