"Excellent service"

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

Last week I went to see the Practice Nurse about a cough. I was referred to the GP, who then referred me to the Hospital. I had some blood tests and then a CT scan, and was admitted for the weekend, to undergo some treatment. The whole process was very professional and quick, and all the staff, from the local Practice, to the Hospital and the Ward were very helpful, efficient, and caring. All this in what was also a very busy time. The Ward staff were busy for the full 12 hour shifts, so I don't know they managed to get a breather or a break.

Being in the fortunate position of previously not having to use the services of the NHS, I was somewhat concerned of what would happen to me, but the professionalism and communication from all the staff, put my mind at rest.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to share your reflections of our NHS - particularly local services in the Vale. Its is great to be reassured by patients that the care is up to the standard they would wish for and I am pleased that it was a positive experience for you. The staff do indeed work hard to make that the case and will be delighted to read your views which I'll share with them now.

Again - thanks
