"Buckland Hospital, Dover"

About: Buckland Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My young Grandson broke his shoulder - initially we went to our local Hospital (William Harvey - Ashford) - I found it to be overcrowded, I think there is a lot of 'bed hopping' and long wait - especially for a young old - a 'follow up' fracture clinic appointment was requested by the doctor at William Harvey but the next appointment available was some 3 weeks away, so, they said they would ring the next day with an appointment - the only one for a few days time was at Buckland Hospital, Dover - we was not happy - it was a long journey from where we live - but we were so glad that it was there in the end... no excessive waiting times and crowds - today my Grandson had a 11am appointment to see the Consultant to see if everything had healed OK - we arrived at 10. 35 - (early! ) - booked in, went to waiting area - immediately his name was called to see Consultant - we were back in the car and on our way home by 10. 50 - now that's just fabulous! !

Thank you so much Sallie for posting your kind comments. I am so glad all went very well, although I am sorry to hear about the overcrowding at the William Harvey. I do hope your Grandson continues to recover well.

Best wishes to you all,

Sally
