"Not far enough along in my therapy for this course to help me"

About: Six Degrees IAPT

(as the patient),

I attended one session every month (30 mins) with a counsellor. For me the sessions were too far apart and too short to have a lasting impact on my health. I became more depressed and was referred to a mindfulness course while waiting to see a counsellor every week. The mindfulness course would have helped me if I was further along with the therapy, but as I am still waiting for therapy I feel too much anxiety to relax in the sessions, although I do feel they are good for the majority of the group who seem to be already on the other side of therapy.

Thank you for writing your personal account Narrow555.

I am sorry to hear your mood has deteriorated and you haven't been able to fully apply the mindfulness at this time. I will feedback to the team the length between the 1-1 sessions were a little too long for you.

I hope the counselling you are awaiting will be helpful for you.
