My 90 year old father was transferred to Potters Bar Community Hospital in October 2015 after a major operation for rehabilitation. The care he received was extremely high quality, he was made to feel very comfortable and had full confidence in the lovely and cohesive teams looking after and helping him to achieve independence once more. Despite I am sure similar staffing issues to the rest of the NHS this is the only hospital where he didn't feel a nuisance in asking for assistance. Communication levels were high, friendly and contributed to a positive atmosphere. He feels he had a full 'mot', with the medical team expertise in Elderly Patient Care looking at the whole picture and fully reviewing common elderly person medical conditions/sorting medication out. He is now living independently again having regained mobility and confidence. This is such an excellent resource which means elderly persons can return home to live independently instead of taking up longer term NHS resources. Thank you so much to all the hardworking members of the team.
