"The wonderful Nurses on Ward G1"

About: York Hospital / General medicine

(as a carer),

My dear wife was admitted to hospital almost four weeks ago.  She has terminal lung cancer and was in great distress with her breathing. Whilst the consultants and others did everything to discover the cause and bring it under control she was understandably suffering from anxiety.  This would frequently cause her to have panic attacks at not been able to breathe.

Throughout her stay for the four weeks the wonderful nurses would just sit and comfort her until it had passed.  Of course, they did all the medical things for which I am eternally grateful but the caring they showed my wife was truly from the heart and I would like you to pass on my thanks to them and to show the management who maybe don't realize the power of just having time to sit with patients is just as important as the medical stuff.

A very big thank you to all at ward G1!

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

We really appreciate your positive and encouraging remarks about the care and treatment your wife received from the staff on Ward G1, we know they work hard to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care.

We are glad to hear that the staff were so comforting at such a difficult time for your wife and we will be very pleased to pass on your comments to the staff on Ward G1.

Thank you again for taking the time to write to us, we always value and appreciate feedback from our patients relatives.

Kind regards
