I have just come home after day surgery at Isabella Ward, Esher Wing Kingston Hospital, and am writing to say how exceptional my experience was.
These things are never nice, but from my initial pre-op assessment until I was discharged today, I was met with unfailing care and attentiveness, clear and careful explanation of my situation at every step of the way, and an attitude which was good humoured and kind.
I really was so impressed and I feel I have been in wonderful hands from beginning to end.
As I left today and was waiting at the lift alongside another lady, a grumpy older woman on a trolley noticed the poster saying 'let us know what you think' and said 'I should say rubbish shouldnt I?' to the porter.
The porter just smiled, so she took the opportunity to say it again, louder.
I was so shocked and outraged at what I heard that I missed the lift!
The lady I was with agreed with me that that we had both been looked after like a dream and that we were ashamed that ungrateful attitudes like this exist.
I hope the porter took her on a very uncomfortable and bumpy ride to theatre, preferably over cobbles!
For my part, I am immensely grateful to you all.
Thank you
"Congratulations"
