"6 months waiting?"

About: Euxton Hall Hospital

My husband was seen at the beginning of January 2016, told he needs an operation on his shoulder. My husband advised the consultant that he was training for an event in June, he was told that it would be done as soon as possible so that it wouldnt affect his training. We have been waiting since January, we have rung, left messages on the answer machine, spoke to someone who has said they would get back to us but havent.

Yesterday he received a date for his operation - middle of June! He has now been waiting for 6 months and then for them not to take into consideration his circumstances (the event has cost £250 to enter, £300 for overnight stays etc) we are going to lose this money as he cannot put the operation off any longer - had the consultant said it would be 6 months waiting we would have cancelled it back in January and not lost any money.

He has had to put work off in case he was called in at the beginning of the year which again has cost us money. (self employed and will be unable to use the shoulder for at least 3/4 weeks)

we are aware thats its not going to cost us anything as this is being done on the NHS but, where is the compassion, understanding or empathy? Especially when they have been advised of his circumstances and he was promised it would be carried out 'soon'.

Not a good service at all, tried to ring again today to see if it could be delayed until beginning of July but guess what? answerphone again.
