"Ward F8"

Our darling dad / grandad passed away on 22 May after over 12 weeks in hospital.

On behalf of the family I would like to record our thanks and appreciation for the love, care, compassion, dignity and respect shown to Our Dad and all of us by the staff, healthcare assistants, nurses and sisters on F8.

We spent literally hours on the ward and witnessed many situations. Your care of your patients was consistently awe-inspiring and we never once saw it falter.

We got to know other patients and their families. Part of me misses it all desperately. Nearly as much as I miss my Dad.

Our family firmly believes we saw nursing at its best in those months. Not only did you care for Dad but you cared for his entire family on their daily visits. In particular the last five days of his life when we didn't leave his side.

You should all be so proud of the work you do.

We are so grateful.

Thank you for your feedback and your further email to me regarding your experience at Frimley Park.

I'm sorry for the loss of your Dad.

I understand from your email that he was a patient on F2.

I'm so glad that you found the care for you all to be positive.

I write it a lot but we are lucky to have a great team who try to treat every patient as though it were their own Mum or Dad in front of them.

Feedback like yours makes it all worthwhile.

I will feed your comments back to the Ward Sister and the team.
