"If you complain you won't get any treatment"

About: Manor Hospital

My husband had a spine operation in 2006. When we went to see his consultant Dr in 2014 we were seen by one of his colleagues and was told that he was going to be discharged. I asked him how he cold make that decision on a 6 year MRI scan! They got quite upset and rude and then decided to send my husband for another MRI scan. Then when they had the results back we were told that he needed a spine fusion operation and was put on a waiting list. Now because we made a complaint he has been taken off the waiting list and has has no further appointments. The last time we were in the clinic (16 months ago) we were taken to one side by a nurse and told that Dr won't be seeing us as they had just gone to the dentist because they had a tooth ache, they didn't tell anyone else in the clinic that Dr wouldn't be available......only us. So if you complain you won't be treated.. Also they lost my husband hospital records twice the first time for 2 years and only because we got the news papers involved did they find them.

Then thy lost them again.

I am sorry to read of this experience and I we would like to discuss this with you. I am not sure whether you complained directly to the area involved or via the complaints process but either way your treatment should not have been affected as a result. If this is indeed the case then this is disappointing.

In order for us to discuss this further please contact Patient Relations on 01922 656463 or via email patientrelations@walsallhealthcare.nhs.uk mentioning NHS choices when you do so that we can log and investigate accordingly.

Regards

Garry Perry
