"Good experience"

About: St Richard's Hospital

I expected a day operation for a prolapse womb.

This turned unexpectedly into a full scale hysterectomy and cancer scare.

The ovaries were abnormal.

I was kept fully informed by the Consultant of their actions, reasons and the risk of cancer.

On the ward I was visited by the Keyworker nurse who explained the tests and promised to phone these through to me. Two anxious weeks followed but they phoned personally to tell me that the results were all clear. A letter of confirmation followed promptly.

Obviously I am relieved with the results but wanted to register my thanks to everyone involved for the professional and joined up manner I was dealt with - it helped a difficult situation.

Big thanks

Thank you for taking the time to post on this site.

It sounds as if you had a worrying time and therefore it is good to read that the staff were so caring and communicated with you so well.

Vitally important in the circumstances you have described.

We will have great pleasure passing your message onto the staff in Gynaecology who will be pleased to read your comments. We hope that you are making a satisfactory recovery and thank you once again for your feedback.
