About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I attended the L&D as a patient, My consultant was courteous, and kept me informed of my progress throughout my consultation and my 3 day stay. All staff were very caring and helpful.

What could be improved

Staff were really overworked, Dealling with all sorts of surgery aftercare and treatment. Like all hospitals they need more money for more staff.

Anything else?

Although I am an employee of the hospital, I did not know any of the staff, from consultant to ward staff, as I work in one of the offices. So my treatment was no different to any other patient.

Thank you for your comment. As you indicate, members of staff are treated no differently from any other patient and it is helpful to hear that you were fully informed of progress throughout your short stay.

Staffing is a challenge for most hospitals and we actively recruit most of the time. However, as we were rated as the 8th best employer in the NHS during 2009, we are in a good position to attract highly professional, caring staff.
