I was taken to KGH by ambulance with severe chest pain, after the tests etc I was diagnosed with pericarditis and treated accordingly sent home later that day. I suffered severe palpitations a few days later and again the amebicare ward saved the day a week later I suffered more chest pain my husband once again took me to A&E and I was passed straight to the amebicare ward because of my previous visits. It was arranged for me to have a scan to see what was going on. After the scan I was transferred to CCU under the watchful eye of all the staff. I was diagnosed with pneumonia and I had some blood clots and treated accordingly. I stayed in CCU/Oakley ward for a week staff were brilliant and very caring. Consultant decided I would have a better life if I had a pacemaker fitted. I had a couple of stable weeks then was taken ill again with more chest pain and again I was taken back to A&E after having an ECG I was told I had a heart rate of 168!!! Very scarey but soon treated by the A&E team and my consultant when things settled I was taken in to the CCU and so many friendly faces remembered me and again took great care of me. Never thought I would ever spend Easter in hospital. I appreciated the care of a very special nurse. Pacemaker to be fitted very soon so watch this space. 100% love all staff @ KGH.
