"What a marvellous bunch they are"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

Having sliced off the end of my index finger, my wife rushed me to A & E at QMC on Tuesday 31 May arriving at 6. 30pm. At reception a nurse came across immediately and bandaged my wound to try and slow the bleed. After being checked in I was then seen by another nurse within 30 minutes. I was then sent for an x ray following which, it was determined that the wound could be treated with dressings, although it would take some time for the end of the finger to grow back. I cannot praise enough the level of professionalism shown to me by all 4 nurses/staff that attended to my wound. What a marvellous bunch they are - thank you so much! We eventually left all sorted after only 3 and a half hours - absolutely amazing.

Sounds like a really nasty injury, Richard! Thank you for getting in touch. I’m so pleased you felt you were in good hands and that you received timely care and treatment. I’ve shared your kind words with the Emergency Department team.

Best wishes,
