"Blood Testing - change of method of operation"

About: Beckenham Beacon Ucc

I currently need to attend for blood tests at Beckenham Beacon every couple of weeks.

The wait has usually been an hour at the very most - I tend to go in the early morning.

Today (31/5/2016) I had to wait nearly 2 hours and there were no more patients than normal.

When I eventually got seen, I discovered that the nursing staff are now under a new instruction to apply sterile wipes to a patients arm and wait for the solution to dry before taking blood.

This has clearly caused a huge delay in dealing with patients and I urge the hospital to review this new procedure as it is clearly now taking far too long and I question whether the new routine is really necessary.
