Following a collapse, head hitting the pavement, skull fracture and seizures I was first admitted to Southmead Hospital, they stabilised me and I spent three weeks with them before being transferred to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre.
I have to admit the thought of the transfer left me terrified, I could not fathom out my brain injury, but was still able to be scared of being sent to an institution. My first night was daunting and a little tearful. The help of the care team put me at ease and my second day was easier. I spent nearly three months at the Centre and I really cannot thank them enough for the help and support they all gave me.
I am now back in fulltime work, have recently moved house and feel so much better. I still suffer from a few problems, mainly the occasional stutter and lethargy, but I can cope with this.
If I was unfortunate enough to have another brain injury, or anyone else has a brain injury, then I do not hesitate in recommending the Centre, the staff, facilities and helpfulness is second to none.
Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
