I was sent an appointment for a CT Scan and informed that after the inial scan further investigations could be required, advice regarding stay in department and length of time before I should drive also enclosed with appointment.
Taking note of these instructions I paid for extra time on parking. I arrived at department and was called for my scan after an acceptable time delay.
After my first scan I was asked to wait on the scanner while the scan would be checked and instructions sought.
Staff came back to tell me I could go home, apparently NO person in department to anaylise scan or instruct on further investigations. I was told my first (only) scan would be checked sometime later and I would be informed if I needed to go back, no time limit given, no advice as to when my GP would be informed.
Why was I given an appointment for tests when no staff were available? This was obviously known when I arrived.
Why start a scan that cannot be finished?
If I'm advised that I require further investigations I will request to be seen at another Trust.
