I want to send a massive thank you out to all of the wonderful people at the Royal Berks Hospital for the care we have received over the last week or so. I didn't have the easiest labour and birth experience, resulting in an emergency c section, and was quite scared at various points. Every single person we encountered, from the surgery team, midwives and porters were friendly, reassuring, professional and could not do enough for us. The NHS is a marvellous thing and the people who work within it are heroes! Apologies for the long and slightly gushing post (postnatal hormones are a unique experience!) but it is all true!
Finally this is a long shot but while all of the staff were amazing, the anaesthetist will be forever remembered by me for metaphorically holding my hand through the whole process and making sure that I was ok when I was really scared.
The midwives on delivery suite put up with me very patiently during labour (!) and were brilliant!
Marsh ward were also fantastic- from a member of staff's caring attention on the long day to frequent help from all staff including student midwives.
We have also had amazing outpatient care from both the ultrasound team regarding Jess' hips and the breastfeeding/tongue tie team who fast tracked is due to the severity of her tongue tie. Lots of wonderful advice and care.
"Fantastic care"
