"Rudeness"

I have always rated this practice until this week. My daughter had a telephone consultation about some medication she wanted to reduce/cease and was rushed by the GP and told she should stay on it as it will help her sleep when she is doing night shifts. She was given no time to explain reasons she wanted to come off it and a repeat prescription was issued. However the conversation was ended before she could ask for more of another medication she also needed so I contacted the pharmacy and they put a request in.When I went to collect the items the second medication had not been issued and a note had been sent across saying it would not be issued unless my daughter had a phone consultation or made appointment. I called straight away to explain what had happened and a very nice receptionist said they would get the GP to call my daughter as I had booked an appointment but the earliest routine one was a month away. The GP did call and was incredibly rude and asked my daughter why she had requested a phone call as she had 9000 patients to deal with. The GP went on to say that my daughter should have put a request in via the pharmacy. She explained that she had in fact tried this and went on to explain that the pharmacy had received a note from the surgery stating it couldn't be issued without a telephone or face to face consultation. The GP then responded that there was no evidence on the computer that a note had been sent across and was basically suggesting this to be untrue. I have the note and will be scanning it over to the surgery. The doctor then very abruptly said they would send the prescription to the pharmacy but would be putting a note on the computer to say this wouldn't be done for my daughter again via telephone. Am so angry as it was the surgery who told us to do it via phone consultation. I don't care how many patients you have, manners cost nothing. Many of us are overworked but I know for a fact I have never been rude to anyone I meet in my job even when their behaviour might warrant that reaction. Very disappointed and angered by this situation.
