"Failed discharge"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital

(as a relative),

My father was discharged in May 2016. He was sent home in an appalling state dressed in a hospital gown, given no chance of wearing his own clothes. The transport drivers did not listen to my fathers request that he was feeling ill on arrival at home before leaving the ambulance. He was helped off the ambulance, his hospital trousers fell to his ankles, his catheter bag came adrift everything was on display the ambulance crew thought this was very funny. There was no attempt to cover him up.

With fifteen minutes we had to call another ambulance as my father collapsed and blacked out. With the help of a neighbour we had to hold my father upright in his chair until help arrived. He was then rushed back to hospital were it was determined he should never have been discharged.

He was treat with no dignity at all
