What I liked
This was my first in patient visit to an NHS hospital for 20 years due to a Saturday evening emergency, I am normally a BUPA patient. Sent in by my G.P. 23.00hhs to E4 ward my treatment and care was excellent I was impressed by the attention given by all staff and the modern up todate equipment used in all aspects of my treatment. I was in patient for twelve days, I do not believe private treatment would have been better having been in privately several times between 1996 and 2008, only the single room is a benefit for sleep and visiting relatives. Having now tried the NHS at the Q.A. I would not hestitate to go back in should the need arise, I cannot fault the treatment I was given plus really impressed by the use of the technology on the ward and different departments making everything so quick to improve the treatment given. I can recommend to other patients.
What could be improved
The cleaning of the ward and area's around the hospital, although due to building works it is difficult at this stage plus E4 ward is in the old part of the hospital, but improvements could still be made.
