What I liked

I would just like to thank the docs & nurses in A&E who treated my father-in-law when he was down here visiting us from up North. He came in with pains in his arm, around 15mins later he was being transferred to bournemouth hospital so he could have an angiogram as the a&e team suspected he was having a heart attack. He ended up having 3 stents fitted to open up and unblock the artery, we were told that if he's left it another day he may not be with us now. He'd been having pains for a few days but hadnt told anyone as he didnt want to make a fuss!

It was a terryfying time for all of us, the first 24hrs after he'd been diagnosed were the worst, but the doctors & nurses were fantastic - giving us all the info they could so we werent left worrying about what might be - instead we had a clear view of what was going on and what the treatment options were if things were to get worse.

Thankfully, due to the fantastic surgery that is now available, he was allowed home a few days later where he stayed with us until he was fit enough to travel back home. He is still having further follow up treatment and investigations as his heart has suffered a bit due to this being his second heart attack, but at least now we know what's going on and we know that he will be getting all the medical care he needs.

There are not enough words to describe how grateful we are for such a fantastic service from the NHS!
