"Complete waste of my time, the nurses couldn't..."

About: St Mary's NHS Treatment Centre (Portsmouth)

Turned up today at 6 pm today got seen by the first nurse at 6.30 pm. Explained my symptoms, not once did the nurse ask a question or acknowledge that they had written down my symptoms.

They then sent me back into the waiting room with no information, not even an estimated time that I would be waiting. Didn't even know if I was seeing a nurse or doctor next.

Over an hour later and I was seen by the second nurse, straight away the attitude of the nurse was rude. They shut the door on me as they didn't wait for me to follow them into the room where I wold be seen.

They then asked what was wrong, obviously the first nurse was a waste of time as they hadn't passed on any details so I had to repeat myself again.

The nurse seen completely uninterested, I then had to inform her of the checks and tests I wanted, as it was obvious that if I didn't they weren't going to bother examining me at all.

Their conclusion - they don't know what's wrong with me as they couldn't be bothered to examine me properly.

If your nurses can't be bothered with there job please don't waste the clients time, especially after two hours of sitting in waiting rooms with no information or client care.

Really disappointed and now having to go back to my GP. If the nurse had actually read my notes they would of known that I had already been to my GP and they had sent me to the walk in clinic.

I'm literally going round in circles and I still don't have an answer to what's wrong with me, I hope it's not anything serious as I have already wasted enough time with nurses and doctors who can't be bothered!!

I am extremely sorry that your experience of the Centre was not positive. We welcome feedback on all aspects of the care we provide and the Lead Nurse – Kath Jones, would appreciate an opportunity to discuss this with you further, to ensure that we can provide a caring service at all times.

The Lead Nurse would be very grateful if you could contact her on kath.jones@careuk.com so that she may gather some more information to allow a thorough investigation to take place.

Kind Regards

Alison Lawrence

Clinical Quality Improvement Manager
