"Poor patient care"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Cardiology

(as a relative),

My family member was in CCU for one night and was not happy with the care. Curtains were shut without asking my family member who felt isolated and claustrophobic. The nasal canulla was in situ although the oxygen had not been turned on all night when the nurse in the morning had noticed this.

Medication was not given as the nurse never had it on the ward and my family member was crying in her room because of this. This was not a pleasant experience compared to the care given previously in ICU.

Hi Jo200

Thanks a lot for sharing the feedback you have about your family member's care in Coronary Care unit in the RAH. I am so very sorry that your experience was less than we'd wish for both of you and I would be keen to understand some more detail and to be able to look into things for you. We really value feedback in the RAH as a way of focussing our improvements.

The Clinical Service Manager for that area will be happy to pick this up with you and she can be contacted on Kirsty.Orr@ggc.scot.nhs.uk. Alternatively, if you email your details to jacki.smart@ggc,scot.nhs.uk or call me at 0141 314 7487 I will make sure someone is in touch.

Thanks again for getting in touch

Jacki
