I was an inpatient at MMH on 21st April and discharged 28th April. I suffered a syncope and initially it was thought I had had an MI. All ecg results were negative so I had to have an EEG. THis apparently showed that I suffer from focal seizures. I saw the neurologist once and he made no notes on my file did not write up any medication. ON the day of my discharge I was given my anti-seizure meds. Since then I have nothing from the Neurology dept. I rang the consultants secretary and found her extremely unhelpful, so much so that she wanted me to ring around the hospital to get my file.
We are now into late May and still nothing from MMH. I have contacted a neurologist, via a friend, and it would appear that in the majority of seizure cases an MRI is also required to confirm the diagnosis. It would also appear that the EEG in 2016 was exactly the same as that that I had done in 2011 and that did not show seizures.
This would bring into doubt the whole diagnosis at MMH, it would appear that they were just looking for something to get you out of the hospital, so they could hit target!
The actual ward I stayed was fantastic and the nursing and support staff were brilliant and fault cannot be found.
