"Dermatology treatment waiting time"

About: Gilbert Bain Hospital / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I saw my GP in November 2014 re a skin condition and was tried on various creams and had a series of blood tests done. The blood tests did not show anything in particular and the creams were not very effective. I had a skin biopsy done which showed the skin was irritated (obviously) and nothing else in particular. I was finally referred to the skin clinic and saw the consultant in November 2015 who has diagnosed allergic eczema, but does not know the cause. He said at the time I would be seen at his next clinic for patch testing. I phoned Medical Records to see when that would be and was told, not the January 2016, clinic, probably not the April 2016 clinic, but possibly the July 2016 clinic. This will be nearly 9 months since I was seen by the consultant and 2 years since I first presented to my GP. This waiting time appears to me to be excessively long and in the meantime.......scratch, scratch, scratch........!
