"Abdominal pain...that wasn't"

About: Bromley Healthcare / Talk together Bromley (IAPT)

(as the patient),

I had chronic abdominal pain for about 3 years, which started just after my mum died. After seeking much medical reassurance and much internet research on possible illnesses, I was referred to some CBT.

We initially discussed how my 'pain' had been confirmed not to be life threatening, as there was nothing there after many scans. Logic dictated there was nothing wrong. We then started talking about other parts of my life, and agreed that my job was very stressful, and had become so at the same time the 'pain' started.

I've realised that I'm stressed. It's a small thing to write, but a revelation to me.
