"The Blood Room"

About: Glenfield Hospital

Having blood taken can be a very traumatic experience for some. To sit in the room and hear someone say to patient they've missed the vein and then blood squirts out is rather unpleasant. To then, when it was my turn, have it hurt so much and be told 'I should have gone for a deeper vein, I'm right on the edge near the nerve, sorry' is not a nice thing to hear.

Compassion for ill people should be paramount and not be treated as a trivial joking matter.
