"Too much feed was delivered"

About: Rotherham PCT / Nutritional services (feeds and supplements)

(as the patient),

I receive nutrition services from NHS Rotherham. We have to order feeds to be delivered abroad 8weeks in advance, then have discussions about it when receiving phone calls asking how much feed we need delivering and explaining none, as we will be abroad for 9 weeks only to find the feed has been delivered to my home in my absence. My neighbour is in convention and as he has a key to gain access and when we return home, find there is so much feed stacked up, it is taking us over! Surely when the feed is delivered abroad, and you tell them you do not need feed as you are away for the winter, someone would have the common sense not to deliver it, we have run out of storage space.

I support the organisation in making sure that the voice of patients and the public is heard and used in planning services. This involves running events, managing surveys, and building networks with the local community.

‘Thank you for your comments.

As additional supplies were sent to your holiday destination we were surprised to learn that extra feed had been delivered to your home when you were out of the country.

We would be very pleased for you to contact the dietetic service to discuss your specific concerns and look into these issues you have raised.

We liaise closely with the ‘feed’ company who discuss delivery of products with the patient prior to delivery, therefore we are very concerned who arranged to have your delivery at home whilst you were away.

In order for us to look into this issue please contact Katharine Phillips Dietetic Prescribing Co-Ordinator on 01709 307079’
