"Care of my Aunt"

About: Royal Derby Hospital / Emergency department St Oswald's

(as a relative),

Having celebrated her 92 birthday by throwing herself from top to bottom of the stairs, (well it would hardly be the other way! ) my aunt found herself in the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary while they rearranged bits back to where they should be.

After this she was transferred by Ambulance to St Oswald's Hospital in Ashbourne, seems the staff are friendly and capable with the exception of the torturers who masquerade under the guise of physiotherapists.

I did mention that it was probably a case of "use it or lose it" to which my Aunt replied that at this point she "really didn't care! "

Anyway, major thanks to the staff who are not only making life comfortable for my aunt but made my life easy when I called from Canada - Thank you all!

Good morning,

Thank you for providing feedback in relation to your aunt, who unfortunately had a fall. We sincerely hope that she is now much improved.

We will make sure that your positive comments about the care she received are passed to the relevant departments, as well as senior managers for these areas.

In terms of the physiotherapy your aunt received, if you wish for us to look into this matter further (we would need your aunts consent), then please email us on dhft.contactpals@nhs.net

Kind regards

I would like to thank you for your kind comments, it is good to know that the expertise of the ward therapists does not go un-noticed as not only are they highly trained as physiotherapists but also as lifestyle gurus bringing out the best in people motivating them to reach their full potential with gentle and warm encouragement.
It is always good to know that the teams efforts do not go to waste.

I have spoken to your aunt and have seen the improvement in her mobility for myself, which is good.
