What I liked
Am pregnant for the first time and had my dating scan at the Royal Free; this was also my first real contact with a member of staff since I found out about my pregnancy. It was good to be seen relatively promptly
What could be improved
The sonographer showed no social or communication ability, not welcoming me, smiling once or anything like that. They did not talk to me during the scan, tell me whether everything is alright with my baby or not (I assume yes, as I hope she would have said so otherwise?). When I tried to ask a question, they ignored it and just asked me to go to the waiting room and wait for the results. Upon their return, I was handed my results on a piece of paper without any explanation and had to ask a fellow patient in the waiting room what the results actually meant.
Anything else?
I hope this was only a one-off and an unlucky start to my pregnancy at the RFH, as I was left feeling upset and disappointed - not what I had hoped for during my first appointment.
