I am writing to say thank you for the fabulous care I received during my recent battle with bowel cancer.
Whilst I was recuperating from my operation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) it came to my attention that I was part of a trial initiated by Mr Rao who had obtained sponsorship for 2 beds in the ICU to reduce the number of cancer operations being cancelled. It had been very successful and it was being looked into extending the trail for a further period.
Having just received the great news that my cancer has been removed fully and I am now clear of this horrendous disease I felt I had to express my support for the trial to be continued as it has undoubtedly saved my life and others need to be given the same opportunity.
Furthermore, we too often see people complaining about the treatment they have received from Pilgrim & Lincoln Hospitals and I would like to go on record expressing my whole-hearted support for the treatment I have received both pre, post op and ongoing care. This includes Mr Rao and his surgical team, Dr Sheehan and his radiotherapy and chemotherapy team and Sally Nightingale and her nursing team who ALL have helped me and my family get through this very difficult time.
