"Extremely poor CBT, delivered poorly"

About: Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

I was referred to Birmingham Healthy Minds in Summer 2015.

From start to finish it was a poor experience.

After a 6 month wait I was offered some CBT eventually.

When the CBT sessions finally started, they were extremely poor. The therapist was disorganised and completely unfocused when talking to them.

I needed some leadership and guidance, not scatter-brained mumblings.

The therapist would often talk about their own problems more than knuckling down and helping me !

I would not recommend this service to anyone.

Thank you for your comments and feedback. We are sorry that your experience of the service was poor. We are continuously seeking to improve the Service and it would therefore be very helpful if you could inform the Birmingham Healthy Minds Service or the Patients Advice and Liaison Service of who your CBT therapist was so that we can investigate the matter and improve the experience for other service users. If you would like to be seen by someone else, please get in touch with our Customer Relations PALS team on Freephone 0800 953 0045 who will be able to offer support to speak to the Service Manager.
