"The worst A&E"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

I arrived at 2am on the 17th May, as had severe chest pain for over 2 hours. My 7-month pregnant partner accompanied me. After 8 hours of waiting the only response i got was that no doctor was assigned yet and no one could tell how long i had to wait more

Thank you for your feedback.

All patients on arrival are triaged within 20 minutes and then assessed for urgency.

The A&E department waiting time can vary because blue light emergency ambulances bring in very sick patients who require immediate treatment. This may mean some patients in A&E have to wait longer.

I am sorry that this was not effectively communicated to you; We aim to keep patients informed of delay. I am the managing director for A&E services, neil.hardy-lofaro@nhs.net and apologize for your long wait and less than satisfactory experience.
