I attended my doctor with discomfort in my chest which I thought might be AF. Was asked to attend Hairmyers too have ecg, echo cardio & monitor to confirm AF.
I can't say enough about how well I was treated. While I was waiting my turn my condition worsened. When the young man took the ecg he didn't like what he saw & immediately referred my case & within 2 minutes he took me to A&E, the whole time reassuring me that I would be fine & not to worry. Later in the day when I was still in A& E he came to see how I was. The staff in A& E were equally as good. Looking after me minute by minute & reassuring me until the doctor prescribed the necessary medication to treat my condition. The staff were very considerate to my husband too, who as you can imagine was rather anxious. He was allowed to stay with me until I was transferred to the ward. I was in the ward for about 30 hours where I was well looked after too.
My condition was checked very regularly & I was given updates to tell me how I was doing. Every member of staff I had dealings with were excellent. I was Very thankful that they were there when I needed them most.
The only suggestion for improvement I could make is that, in the ward consideration be given to the upset anxious relatives. I understand that rules in place for a reason but perhaps a more gentle approach could be used when trying to get rid of the relatives. My husband felt he was given his marching orders. We have no children and I am his neatest & dearest so he was very worried & upset & would have liked to stay a wee bit longer to make sure I was ok.
