I recently had a cataract operation at the Nuffield hospital. This involved a pre-op visit then going as a day patient for the operation. I went as an NHS patient.
At all times I was treated with courtesy and respect. I was asked if I had any holidays planned so the op. could be timed to fit in.
A few days pre-op there was a telephone chat to check that I was fit for operation.
The system of dealing with ten cataract ops. in the afternoon was very efficient and my operation was quickly over. There were pre and post op. checks for pulse, temperature and blood pressure.
I did feel cared about at this hospital because all members of staff were pleasant, gave reassurance when needed and did their work efficiently.
Although those are the main requirements, it did help that the hospital itself is bright snd comfortable. The waiting rooms had daylight windows; no waiting in dark corridors.
I have no heaitation in recommending to others.
"Recent catatact operation."
