Urgent appt made due to post op complications. Consultant asked to see me. Consultant secretary rang me day before appt and asked me to inform nursing staff of this. Nurse dealing with that specific clinic was extremely rude when I informed them upon arrival, telling me consultant's secretary had no right telling me that (even though it was the consultant who had told them they wanted to see me). They told me there were a lot of doctors in clinic and not everyone could see the consultant. I explained that the consultant had asked to see me personally. They told me it was not a private clinic! Other patients were there and over heard this. They to thought this particular nurse was rude and bang out of order. This nurse does not know me, or my case history. They also do not know why the appt had been arranged urgently ad-hoc. I felt very be-littled and disrespected. Surely nursing is a caring and understanding profession. No care was shown. This nurse is a disgrace to the Gynaecology Outpatient Service and should not be allowed to work there with such bad attitude. The consultant is fantastic and provides excellent care at all times, showing compassion and understanding but this nurse let this service down on 13/05/16. There was just no need for it. I was doing what I was told to do by the consultants secretary when this urgent appt was made on 12/05/13.
