"Everyone I came in contact with was amazing"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as the patient),

I have just given birth to my second child at wishaw General hospital (may 2016). I went into labour naturally with my first child but went 12 days overdue with my second and was booked in for induction at wishaw General hospital.

I have a fear of hospitals and was apprehensive about getting induced. I was induced on the Monday night and by the early hours of Tuesday morning my labour had started and I gave birth naturally on the Tuesday evening.

Every person I dealt with in hospital made me feel at ease and I can not fault any aspect of my experience. The midwives on ward 24 including the student midwife were incredible and all the other staff I had contact with (maternity assistants, breast feeding support, cleaners) were amazing.

I would highly recommend Wishaw General Hospital maternity and the staff at ward 24 and the amazing job they do.

Dear Lanarkshiremum

Thank you so much for your lovely comments about your experience at the maternity unit in Wishaw General Hospital especially your kind reference to Ward 24 and all the staff including student, breast feeding support, maternity assistants and cleaners. Please be assured I will pass on your comments to all of them.

I can understand how anxious you must have been coming in for induction of labour especially due to the fact you went into labour yourself in your first pregnancy.

I am glad the staff were not only able to alleviate your fears but also able to make your experience a positive one.

I hope you and your new baby are doing well and appreciate that even being a busy mum of 2 you still took the time to tell us about your experience.

Hope you are not getting too many sleepless nights

Kind Regards

Lyn
