"Pye Oliver Ward"

About: The Maidstone Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I was in Pye Oliver ward some months ago for a week. I was surprised by just how busy this ward was, Th pressure on the staff seemed unrelenting. There was never a bed empty for more than an hour or two. There were often patients decanted from other wards that were nothing to do with urology (one patient I remember had two broken wrists). I admired how well the staff coped, but felt that the constant pressure that they were under was unfair.
