"Medical Assessment Unit"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

I was admitted here after a referral from my GP for high blood pressure and jaundice. Very quickly they were able to asses that I had Gall Stones which required antibiotics along with medication to help reduce the dangerous blood pressure.

I never left the assessment unit for the 3 days that i was in there and have nothing but praise for the staff that run this unit. It's not designed for overnight stays but they were all so friendly and helpful and doubt very much that I would have received better care from a ward.

Hats off to the team in MAU, top job!

Many thanks for your kind comments with reference to your recent stay on the GP assessment unit. As you mention it is not designed for overnight stays but at times due to the current pressure we need to use it. We are happy to read that all staff made your stay as comfortable as possible. We do hope you are now recovering well.
