"Over worked, short staffed and failing to cope"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

After been blue lighted by ambulance to a&e with my 5 year old son, with suspected meningitis yesterday, I can honestly say that given choice I will never return to this hospital as the service is barbaric.

We waited 13 hours to be given a diagnosis and be seen by a consultant. very little was done in that time, it was just a frustrating wait in an over crowded over run a&e assessment dept. It took 9 hours before a blood test was even carried out! at one point I even considered self discharge and going to another hospital .

The staff are clearly over worked, dangerously short staffed and all doing their best but I'm afraid to say my son was at high risk yesterday and the care and communication we received was barbaric.
