"Biggest problem with dialysis is holidays"

About: Northern General Hospital / Nephrology

(as the patient),

Dialysis as you may know consists of hospital visits three times a week for 4-5 hours. Holidays are the biggest problem and we don’t seem to have much info about this. We are going to Skegness this year but would very much like to know about other places in the UK we can go. We have been abroad and the facilities are excellent but do not want to travel abroad anymore.

I've found the following information, hope this helps.I'm not sure if you are receiving treatment at Sheffield, or through the satellite base in Rotherham, so have included information for both units. There is a holiday co-ordinator at each location, the contact names and information follow below, I am assured that there are many options for holidays within the UK.

If you are being treated in Sheffield, contact Ruth Langan, on 0114 271 5896.

If you are treated in Rotherham, please contact Annette at the satellite unit on 01709 838333.

These staff are part-time, so please leave a message, and they will get back to you.
