"My husband has been waiting .... and continues to wait"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

(as a carer),

An update on the previous story (Posted by well disgruntled (as a carer), last month

My husband was referred January 2009 for hip replacement. January 2010 find that my husband is somewhere in the system but still not down for surgery (nor on Feb list) BUT - he has been put priority!

I feel that if that is priority then Lord help the rest of us ...

He can manage maybe 200 yards a day, as in get to the toilet a few times a day in daylight hours and the odd 20 feet to the car. For a guy that has had 2 heart attacks the lack of movement is doing not doing wonders for his general health, so is the fact that he has cut his fluids so he doesn't have to struggle in agony to the bathroom.), DAYS after this appearing we had a letter through with a date for FEB 27th! WOW!

Knew it was too good to be true though, Feb 25th it is cancelled. Now, being the cynic I am I just knew that it would be, I bet the 5th of March is cancelled too until he is jockeyed up to May.

The previous post was edited where I quoted from Musgrove Parks web page that stated 18 weeks from referral to surgery, at that time it was stated clearly, how does 60 weeks sound? If it goes ahead on the 5th of March it WILL be 60 weeks from referral, well outside all guide lines
