12.2 arrived at the hospital at 7.15am for surgery on my nose. I was last in so got to recovery about 11.50, at 12.30 they were trying to get me a bed on ward 8 ( there was a space but no bed) at 2pm it was decided by a nurse on ward 8 that i could go up on a trolley as long as i was happy to sit in a chair. when I went up nobody knew i was due there.eventually one of the nursed came to the desk and asked another nurse to take care of me they moaned well I have already got 4 things on the go. The nurse then proceeded to take my blood pressure & then left for over another hour I started to feel sick because I had not had anything to eat or drink apart from water so I told my husband that I wanted to discharge myself, he asked a nurse at the desk and they said somebody would be with us soon.15 mins later i decided to get myself dressed and just leave. Once dressed I went to the desk so they could take the needle out of my hand and the nurse said i needed to go back to my chair so they could take the needle out. When I told the nurse I wanted to go because i felt sick from not eating they were shocked that I had not been given a warm drink and something to eat, the nurse advised me to have something to eat while i waited for my medication they got me a sandwich (I also mentioned to them about the sick note the consultant advised me that I would be off work for 2 weeks and the ward would do the sick note). at 4.15 i go to the desk to see if my medication has arrived yet and was informed that it can take a couple of hours for this to which i replied I was ready to come back to the ward at 12.30 the nurse then chased it up.4.40 ish ready to be signed out all i was waiting for was nose drops which the nurse could not even tell me when to start taking them and I later found out from a visit to my doctors that I am supposed to take them for 6 weeks this was not on my medication! I then mentioned the sick note and they asked me if i had mentioned this to any of her colleagues I am still waiting for this
