Had a foot injury and had to visit the A&E section trice within a space of 6. Wasn't satisfied with the 1st assessment and feedback so booked appointment with my GP who recommended I get an xray on the same foot at the same hospital. Got the xray results from my GP and my foot was broken but I was still feeling pains and couldn't move easily.Decided I would go back to the A&E a my GP was closed but was surprised at the way I was treated today.
As I sat in the waiting area, one of the nurse on duty, picked up my form, read my name out loud and asked my why I was there?..I wondered if there was no patient privacy or confidentiality in place. The nurse then told me a colleague would attend to me later.
Later, a colleague came calling and I went into the consultation room. By just reading the records on my account, the nurse suggested I dose up with pain killers (Ibuprofen and paracetamol at the same time) every time I feel pain on it,just to get the pain down. That didn't make sense to and I was asked to wait at the waiting area. I wasn't too happy with that I chosed to leave.
Patient privacy and confidentiality needs to be respected by the nurses.
"Made up my mind never to go there again"
