What could be improved
The Doctor who first saw should have told me they had referred me to another Doctor. I was woken up at 2am (after getting a bed at 1.30am) and being in A&E for 6 hours, to be spoken to by another doctor who asked me why I had been to A&E 3 times since last Sept. I explained on the first occasion I was given morphine and kept in for 3 days and I had a scan together with an x-ray, and I was waiting for my gallbladder to be removed (and I still am waiting as the operation has been cancelled twice). On the 2nd occasion I collasped in pain and on this the 3rd time, I was again dehydrated, and I didn't know until after diagnosis that I had an infection that needed medication. This doctor was most rude to me and questioned how much pain I was in. Its not my fault I have waited longer than the 18 weeks for my operation, and I have no control over dehydrating, its because my gallbladder has ceased to function. I would perform my own operation if I could. I am in a lot of pain, I don't have gallstones, my gallbladder is (contained) permanently in spasm.
Anything else?
The other Doctor actually questioned me when I said I was a lady on my, and I lived completely alone ( the only family I have is a sister in Devon). I got divorced 20 yrs ago. And she said you must have a partner, I said why must I?
